Roman took third place overall at the Tour de Swiss just like he did in 2009. He finished seventh in the final time trial, one minute behind the victorious Costa who also sealed the overall win.

The queen stage didn’t work out for Roman the way he had imagined. He finished in seventh place having lost 22 seconds and dropped to third position overall, trailing Frank by 23 seconds and Costa by 10 seconds.

Today´s stage of the Tour de Swiss could be described as the calm before the storm. The local rider Rast took the victory after a solo ride, whereas Roman, with his biggest rivals, crossed the finish line almost 11 minutes later. No changes have occurred in the GC, Roman is still sitting in second place overall.

The Saxo-Tinkoff team worked perfectly for his leader and Roman kept his second place overall in today´s uneventful stage that ended in a bunch sprint. Besides, his teammate Matti Breschel took fourth place.

Roman safely held on to his second place overall in the 4th stage of the Tour de Swiss. He slightly felt the consequences of the Monday´s crash but it was nothing serious that should cause him any more trouble on the bike.
