Had a go but nobody was game

Towards the end of the 2nd stage at the Tour de Swiss Roman made an attack in an attempt to break away but his efforts were futile. He crossed the finish line in 42nd position in the main bunch and he sits 14th place overall.

“One time I made a move and attacked. If more riders had been interested in riding away we might have had a gap but soon we found out that it was useless. So, at the end of the day, we arrived with the main bunch,” described Roman. “It was a really difficult stage but, on the other hand, it was easy to control. Most of the time the weather was on our side, except for the fog that we rode through on the descent from the Grimselpass, which was quite unpleasant,” added Roman.
