Happy for Sagan’s victory

The Liquigas team celebrated the first victory at the Tour de Romandie thanks to Peter Sagan who has become the new leader of the race. Roman crossed the finish line in the first group without any major difficulties delighted at his teammate’s success.

“What I said yesterday proved today: Sagan could take the win. We were pulling a lot in the last thirty kilometers because we knew that Cavendish and some other sprinters dropped off. Peter did a great job in the sprint. Even though he was blocked with 350 meters remaining, he managed to find a way out, he followed the right rear wheel and grabbed the victory,” Roman admitted. Towards the end of the race he tried to pep Sagan “He was a bit nervous and I told him to keep a cool head. I gave him some advice which might have helped him a little. We have the yellow jersey now so tomorrow we will need to be pulling a tad more. But that’s the way it is.”
Today the Czech Liquigas leader felt better than in the previous days when he was suffering from stomach problems. “After a long time I was able to pedal at a high cadence. I still lack power a little bit but I hope I will get myself together before the Friday’s time trial,” he said.
