I am upset but I am not giving upSun July 18, 2010, 20:08 Roman finished in 28th position in today’s stage after he had been dropped on the final climb. He is sitting in twelfth place overall but he is certainly not giving up.
"I was feeling miserable today. On the last downhill before the last climb I knew that something was going wrong. I was out of power and my legs were stiff. If we had ridden harder on the last but one climb I would have been dropped. Yesterday I said that somebody was going to pay the price for the last two tough stages in the Pyrenees but it didn’t dawn on me that it would be me. Unfortunately, it is only a sport and there is nothing I can do. I have dropped out of top ten but I am certainly not throwing in the towel. Together with Basso we have lost some time but we are not giving up. Of course, I am upset about my today’s performance but still, there are further hard stages to come. I just hope it will get better on my part," Roman said. Translated from original by: Ondřej Vobora |
