I have lost my voice

Roman is set to race in the Milan-San Remo classic for the first time in his career. Shortly before the race he is fighting back some minor health problems - he has lost his voice. "I can hardly speak. I caught a cold," he whispered on the phone from Milan.

"Luckily, it is not a virus which would weaken the entire body. I hope it won't handicap me too much. I had felt good all week long. After the Paris-Nice I put in some training hours and even had a chance to rest," he revealed. 
Bennati is the designated Liquigas leader for the race. "I will try to help him. This kind of race usually ends in a bunch sprint so I think he stands a chance to succeed. The weather report predicts rain for tomorrow so we will see if the weather can have any significant impact on the race," he added before the 101st edition of the longest classic race of the UCI calendar which totals amazing 298 kilometers.
