Just a transfer

The eleventh stage of the Tour was won by the Briton Cavendish after a bunch sprint. Roman arrived at the finish in the main field. He was glad to have saved energy before another tough day.

"Three riders broke away after the start. Almost all day long we had to struggle with the headwinds and crosswinds but fortunately, the pack didn’t split. We caught the breakaway with about 40 kilometers to go and the finish was under control of the Columbia team. The stage was more or less a transfer, nothing difficult, we didn’t have to cope with the scorching heat and I guess that we have saved some energy in the last two days," Roman said after the stage.
Tomorrow the peloton will face another tough stage with the finish in Mende, with a final climb named after Jalabert. "This climb is included in the Paris-Nice and it is short but quite steep. This might suit Contador or Rodriguez. It may happen that a group will go away and there will be two races in one: One for the stage victory and the other one for the general classification. The last kilometer to the finish is flat on a high plain," Roman said.
