Since Tuesday Roman has been practicing in Italy where he is getting ready for the Tour of Trentino that starts on April 17 near his Italian home. Originally, he was planning to test ride three Giro stages but due to miserable weather conditions he was forced to postpone it.

After returning from the high altitude camp on Tenerife Roman went to see a Davis Cup match. The Czech tennis star Tomáš Berdych helped him to get the tickets and on Saturday and Sunday Roman rooted for the Czech tennis squad that played against the Serbians.

Roman´s build-up for the next season has gotten under way. Presently, he is preparing with his Astana team in the Spanish town of Calpe where he went for his first spin after 45 days off his road bike. “I must admit I am really having a good time.”

My vacation has come to its end. I started off my preparation for the next season a couple of days ago. I have been going to weigh-lifting room three times a week and riding my mountain bike in an easy pace.

Roman´s race season has definitely come to its end after the last competition in Japan. He is now enjoying the well-earned rest at home in the Czech Republic but it won´t be long before he travels to Kazakhstan to be the guest of honor for the Track Cycling World Cup in Astana.
