Roman is presently dwelling in his favorite destination - Canary Islands. He is tuning up his form at high altitudes for his main goal of the season - Giro d´Italia. Before riding the Italian Grand Tour stage race he is going to test his legs at the Trentino and Tour of Romandy.

A well-earned rest after the Tirreno has come to its end and Roman has begun riding his bike again. He started off another block of training in his build-up towards the Giro. He is off to Tenerife on Friday.

Roman has to put off his start into the upcoming season. He was supposed to ride the stage race Tour of Sardinia but it was canceled due to financial problems. Roman will put another camp in Calpe on his agenda instead and he will kick off his race season with the one-day race Clásica de Almería.

Roman has become an uncle this morning. His sister, who is married to the famous Czech cross-country skier Martin Jakš, gave birth to a baby-girl Šarlotka. “Congratulations to them and I wish the little one all the best,” said Roman from the training camp in Calpe.

The first race in which Roman is taking part – the Tour of Sardinia - is just around the corner. Logically, his preparations in the warm environment are oriented towards getting in his best shape possible at the beginning of the season.
