Serial: One-day races

Roman was very active in the queen stage of the Tour de Romandie. Several times he tried to ride away from the leading group but due to the strong headwind his attempts proved fruitless.

Roman proved to be on form during his second participation of this season. After 190km of racing Roman finished in 6th position at the one-day race Strade Bianche. The Astana team had a reason to celebrate as Maxin Iglinskyi secured a podium spot with his second place. The Swiss rider Fabian Cancellara claimed the victory.

Tomorrow Roman is taking part in the Montepaschi Strade Bianche race, which is very well known for its white gravel roads, near the Italian town of Siena.

Roman had a good reason to be happy after his first race of the season 2012, as his Slovene teammate achieved a remarkable success. Bozic finished in the second position, behind the Australian Matthew who took the victory, in the mass sprint. Roman eased off with 4km to go and softly pedaled to the finish to avoid possible skirmish in the final meters.

Roman was relatively busy before his Wednesday´s departure to Japan. Along with other riders he participated in the presentation of the 2012 Giro route on Sunday. He didn’t even have a chance to watch today´s presentation of the Tour de France.
