No energy left to accelerate in the finale

“I wasn’t positioned well on the last downhill and Kasrten Kroon and Nick Sörensen helped me to move up toward the front. It was pretty dangerous and I didn’t want to take any unnecessary risks. In the end, I did manage to hit the front but it cost me a lot of effort. When the best riders picked up the pace on the Mur de Huy I had no energy left in my tank to follow,” Roman said.“All in all, we pulled off a solid performance. We knew that we had no faster riders in our line-up. We just wanted to give it a go but our opponents were simply better. I´m not surprised by the trio who made the podium. Those short steep climbs are Moreno´s strong point. In the morning I said that all the Colombian riders could easily make the podium and I wasn’t  far from the truth,” he admittedRoman believes that chances of his team succeeding at the classic Liege-Bastogne-Liege will be considerably higher. “It is going to be a completely different race and I´m convinced that we will do a better job. The team seems incredibly strong and I wish we could show our best qualities,” he added.
