After the last stage of the Paris-Nice Roman Kreuziger clinched the fourth position overall. He conceded a podium spot to Luis Leon Sanchez. Trailing Sanchez by mere one second Roman kept the white jersey for the best young rider.

"There was an intermediate sprint at the 18km mark in which Sanchez sprinted second so he was awarded two seconds.
