Roman is not missing on the Tinkoff Saxo line-up for the Tour!

The leader of the Russian squad will be the Spaniard Alberto Contador, the final selection includes Roman Kreuziger, Peter Sagan, Rafal Majka, Michael Rogers, Ivan Basso, Daniele Bennati, Matteo Tosatto and Michael Valgren.
“I am glad that I will ride the Tour again after a year break. I have only good memories of the 2013 edition but this year´s Tour will be completely different. Albert is obviously our leader and his success is our number-one priority. There is no plan B, only plan A with Alberto,” revealed Roman.
Roman himself is supposed to help Contador in the medium mountain stages, Majka will be the rider who will support the Spanish leader in the most difficult stages. “If I have the legs I would like to help him out even in the mountainous stages but Majka is an excellent climber and he weights by a couple of kilos less than me or Rogers,” said Roman.
The last time Roman rode the combination of the Giro and Tour in one season was 4 years ago. “And I told myself that I would never do this again. We had to travel a lot during the Giro at that time and I came home really tired. I could feel it during the following Tour de France. I hope that it will be better this time. I have rested quite well, I am feeling all right and hopefully, I will show my good qualities during the Tour,” he added.
In his view, the Tinkoff-Saxo line-up is really well-balanced. “It is a good bunch that is willing to sacrifice itself for the leader. We can all trust each other, which is really positive. We have strong riders for the first 10 days, medium mountains and for the hard mountainous stages,” said Roman.
