Not even the today’s stage of the Tour of Catalan has mixed up the general classification. Spaniard Rodriguez is keeping his lead while Roman is sitting in the eighth position. After a solo breakaway, Italian Malacarne grabbed the victory.

"A four-man group broke away very soon and Malacarne was among them. They had the gap of eleven minutes so we started to pull. Malacarne was eventually the only one who stayed in the front. I’m quite angry with the organizers because the stage details didn’t correspond to the itinerary we had. We were told that there was a steep climb with fifteen kilometers to go. I felt good and I was planning to attack there. I gave it a go but the climb was far from steep. We all went out and everyone was able to keep up. We reached the average speed of 35km/h on the climb so one can imagine what the gradient was. The finish was supposed to be flat for a sprint and with one kilometer remaining we were doing seventy but then, out of the blue, we were faced with a 500 meters long ascent of 10 percent gradient. Nothing like that was supposed to be there. There is nothing I can do about it, I keep fighting," Roman admitted.
