Test ride on the cobbled stretch of a Tour’s stageWed April 21, 2010, 09:23 Roman made good use of his stay in Belgium and tested a cobbled section of the scheduled third stage of this year’s Tour that ends in Arenberg.
I'd been planning to do it for a long time. We headed there with Nibali and the sports director of Liquigas. We rode the last sixty kilometers of which about fifteen kilometers is a cobbled road. The main reason was to see what it looked like so nothing would surprise us when the time comes. Now I have an idea of what I can expect and my next plan is to test ride some portions of two mountain stages in the Alps and two in the Pyrenees together with more of my teammates in early June. I didn't do it in the previous years but I do have a feeling that it is necessary to get the riding experience of the key sections of the Tour.
