Today’s stage was marked by a successful breakaway of six riders who posed no threat to the leaders. The peloton welcomed such developments after a tough day in the mountains. The main field crossed the finish line 14 minutes later.

"The stage was difficult, though. There were some climbs and on top of that, the oppressive heat. At the beginning the temperature was reaching 47 degrees in the direct sun. Before the group broke away the tempo was really high but then we slowed down a bit. We had to struggle against horrible headwinds so this is why our average speed was so low. The pace wasn’t so high in the pack but surely it was not an easy day. My watts average could be compared with a harder practice ride that I do in the season" Roman said. 
He felt better after the hard day. "I could feel it in my legs that yesterday I was on my limit but today it was better. Only the weather, it isn’t very pleasant for the body, but I guess it is not going to get any better in the coming days," he added.
