Roman Kreuziger improved his last year's eight position at the Sportsperson of the Year of the Czech Republic of 2009 where he finished sixth.

"I'm glad to fit in top ten. My results were better than last year so I'd been anticipating a movement forward. The question is what my position will be next year because even cycling is a sport and nobody can vouch for my improvement in the season 2010," Roman said."I'm convinced that in order to become the Sportsperson of the Year I'd have to win the Tour de France. A stage victory in this race wouldn't be enough in Czech competition,"he added. 
During the ceremony Roman received congratulations from a moto-racer Jan Charouz and he was also given a voucher for a ride in his sports car."As a co-driver I won't be scared at all," Roman said with a smile on his face on the stage.
