Vino earned the victory

The Kazakh Vinokurov of Astana took the win after a successful breakaway in the 13th stage of the Tour. Roman crossed the finish line in the main filed 13 seconds down on the winner and was happy that Vinokurov grabbed the victory.

"Congrats to Vino. He earned the victory and he should have taken the win yesterday. He is a fighter and I really wish him the stage win," Roman said. "Apart from that, the stage was quite unpleasant. Those three riders who broke away could have finished with 20 minutes advantage and nothing would have happened. The sprinters didn’t want to allow that but underestimated the last climb. It was up and down almost all the time and I am convinced that somebody of the favorites is going to pay the price for the last two days," said the Liquigas rider. 
"The tomorrow’s stage is really hard with the top mountain finish so we will see how things will go. I was feeling good today and I remain optimistic even though I am starting to feel tired a bit. After all, we have covered two thirds of the race."
