We protected Alberto

The Tinkoff-Saxo team did not have an easy task in today´s stage. All of the riders, including Roman, were trying to protect their leader Alberto Contador who dislocated his shoulder in the Thursday´s stage.

“His injured shoulder still hurts a little bit but he is all right. I think that as a team we came out quite well today,” said Roman. “Our boys have doing a great job here. My task is to be helpful in the most difficult moments, I am something like Alberto´s protégé. But the support from our teammates is fantastic,” praised Roman.

“We are not dwelling on the past because we cannot turn the clock back and we look to the future. Tomorrow´s stage features a mountain-top finish and the Sunday´s will be also very hard but we have to give our best,” admitted Roman.
