A bad day on Zoncolan

“I don’t want to make any excuses, it just wasn’t my day and I wasn’t feeling good. I had a bad feeling during the stage and I knew that I wasn’t at my best but I didn’t think that the time loss would be so big. I know Zoncolan but unfortunately, this climb doesn’t  suit me. You have to use unusual gears and at times you it feels like riding a mountain bike. I couldn’t do anything and I began to feel better 4km from the finish but at that time the gap was too big. I have to give a credit to Tiralongo who helped me out a lot. He set the pace that suited me,” Roman said.Roman is not panicking before the hellish tomorrow´s stage in the mountains.” I think that the first place is already clear but the gap between the third and tenth rider is only three minutes. If I should  burn out tomorrow then things will look bad for me, I´m confident, though. I´m moving on and I want to show that I have what it takes.”Stage 14 (Lienz-Monte Zoncolan, 210 km): 1st Anton (Spa/Euskaltel) 5:04:26, 2nd Contador (Spa/Saxo Bank) +33, 3rd Nibali (Ita/Liquigas) +40, 4th Scarponi (Ita/Lampre) +1:11, 5th Mensov (Rus/Geox) +1:21, 6th Gadret (Fra/AG2R) +1:38, 7th Nieve (Spa/Euskaltel) +1:52, 8th Dupont (Fra/AG2R) +1:55, 9th Sivcov (Blr/HTC) +2:05, 10th Rujano (Ven/Androni) +2:11, … 16th Roman Kreuziger (Cze/Astana) +3:32.Overall Standings: 1st Contador 54:45:45, 2nd Nibali +3:20, 3rd Anton +3:21, 4th Scarponi +4:06, 5th Gadret +5:23, 6th Sivcov +5:37, 7th Mensov +6:06, 8th Dupont +6:12, 9th Roman Kreuziger +6:40, 10th Arroyo (Spa/Movistar) +6:40.
