I dodged the crash

“I swerved to the right and dodged the crash. I stayed up front together with Nicolas (Roche). From our team Alberto was the one who suffered the worst consequence of that crash. He is fairly bruised but, luckily, he didn’t break anything. Bennati and Rogers went down as well but they escaped unscathed,” revealed Roman after the stage. He also commented on the unfortunate situation with the bus that was stuck under the gantry in the finishing area. “We got the information through the radio so we knew about it. Then we learnt that we were going to be awarded the same time as the winner even though the crash happened outside the 3km protective zone,” Roman said. He was glad to have the first stage behind him. “It went down quite smoothly, except for the finale. Let´s see what the upcoming days will bring,” he added.
