After Oman off to Italy

On Monday Roman came back from his first race in Oman where he finished in the 8^th place overall. His next participation will be the Strade Bianche in Italy.

“I recovered a bit at home. On Tuesday and Wednesday I took short rides just to spin my legs. Today I did a more intense riding and I am travelling to Italy where I will be gearing up towards other races,” he said.

He went back to assessing his overall performance at the Tour de Oman. “I analysed it with my coach and we came to the conclusion that we had done everything the right way in my preparation. The training camp on the Canary Islands was aimed at the Classics and the Tour de Romandy. The goal wasn’t to get into an early shape for the first races but we were rather planning to keep a decent form throughout the entire season. I have a good groundwork I can build on. Even though I thought that I would do better in the most difficult stage, it is important to stay calm and focused,” he added.
