Catching cold instead of getting a result

“I haven’t wrapped up the last week the way I had pictured. Unfortunately, I went down with cold instead of scoring a good result. Doctor put me on a course of three-day antibiotics.”“I had been suffering from a slight cold since the Liege. At first, it didn’t trouble me very much but then my condition got worse after the Saturday´s stage in rain and chilly weather. I felt terribly and had breathing difficulty. Together with the team we were even considering the option of not riding the final time trial but I didn’t want to call it quits. It was a bit discouraging to tackle the TT when I knew that I had no chance of moving up in the GC and it was even worse when I felt sick. I don’t want to make any excuses but it is just the way it happened,” he added.First and foremost, his next goal is to fully recover from the health problems. “I´m going to take at least four days off the bike. I´m going to spend some time in the Czech Republic and then I´m going back to Italy. Since I´m coming back to action in five weeks´ time I´m definitely going to put in a couple of training camps on my training agenda,” Roman admitted.
