Good time trial. I want to keep the podium spot

“He put in an excellent time trial. Our team is really happy to have won a stage. Kangert who finished sixth also pulled off a great performance and I´m quite satisfied with my ride as well. It was a good time trial and we all have to congratulate Costa who is obviously in shape and keeps a solid lead ahead of us,” Roman said.He is sitting in 2nd place overall but the time gaps behind him are really small. “I´m looking ahead rather than behind me. It is our priority to keep the podium spot but there is still a fair chance of me fighting for the victory. We will see how good Costa´s legs will be on the weekend. There is one climb tomorrow but the Sunday´s stage seems much harder so we will try to figure something out. Kessiakoff went through a crisis on the way to Verbier but he got back into the swing. Kangert´s form is also increasing so I hope we will show something very soon,” he added.Roman felt disappointed about not being able to ride with his special anti-slip elastic cover on his saddle. “It helped me to improve my time trial position. I´d used it before in all the prologues, time trials at the Giro but today the race officials didn’t allow me to put it on the saddle, justifying their decision by saying that nobody else was allowed to use it either. I didn’t quite understand their decision and it upset me a bit because again I kept sliding forward on the saddle,” he revealed.  7th  stage (time trial,  Gossau): 1.
