It wasn’t our best day but we remain relaxed

“The finish proved to be much tougher than we expected. It wasn’t exactly our best day, the ultimate climb didn’t suit us well but it is no excuse. We remain relaxed, tomorrow is another day and I believe that we will have a chance to show our best qualities once more,” he admitted.Besides, Alberto was held back by a flat tire with 15km to go. “Our guys waited for him and I was told to stay up front. It took a while before they brought him back,” Roman said. “With some 5km remaining we hit the front to eliminate the attacks but it didn’t work out quite well. It came as no surprise that Henao and Betancuro fought for the win. We mentioned those names at the team meeting before the race,” Roman said.He tried to limit his losses on the final ascent as much as possible. “I did my very best I could today. I felt much better in the previous two days but today I didn’t have the legs. My goal is still to notch up some UCI points in this race. I believe that I will get better with every day. I just need to get some racing kilometers into my legs,” Roman said.
