“The fact that there was a strong headwind on the final climb is another story. There was not much space to do something because some teams were trying to take the race into their hands. On the downhill Nibali, Sagan and Uran opened a gap but, luckily, we almost caught them on the finish line, so the options in the GC remain open for more than twenty riders,” said the Tinkoff-Saxo rider. “It was the first clash of the favourites because we rode full gas almost all day long and I came out of it almost without any loss of time. We will see how my body recovers but I am looking forward to tomorrow and I will do my best to achieve a good result.”
