“We did an easy one-hour ride with a stop for a coffee in Maastricht on Monday and in the evening we went to the movies to watch Oblivion starring Tom Cruise. It was what we need to recharge   our batteries.” On Monday the squad was joined by Alberto Contador who is going to take part in the Fleche Wallone and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. He stated that he has no problem in supporting Roman. “I was delighted by his words and I´m truly honored. But we all know that when Albert has a race number pinned on his back he always wants to win. I´m really glad that he is here with us because now we can play out different scenarios with myself, Alberto and Nicki Sörensen. I think that all three of us can stay up front at the end. We have here a really strong team.”Today the Saxo-Tinkoff Bank riders went out for a 90km ride. “We didn’t go to inspect the course, though, only our sport manager did the recon. We know that the final climb doesn’t quite suit us and there are bigger favorites on paper but we will definitely try to figure something out at the end. It is important to start the final short steep climb in front positions and then give it everything in the last grueling 600m of that climb.”
