Tests in Italy and practicing at home

“I did the tests to have some data and numbers at hand that I will use in my training. Considering the point of the year and the beginning of the season, the results came out quite right,” revealed Roman who stopped over in Austria to go skiing on his way from Italy to the Czech Republic.Originally, he toyed with the idea of going to Majorca for a couple of days but then he decided to practice at home. “I need to take care of some things here in the Czech Republic and it wouldn’t be worth going there for such a short time. I will mostly ride on the rollers and go to the gym. Then I will go to the Canary Islands in January for practicing. I should be there between the 4th and 28th of January. My wife will keep me company there for the first two weeks and some of my teammates will fly there with their families as well. On top of that, a team training camp is scheduled for January 17 in the same place. All the riders who will be competing in Australia or Argentina should meet up there,” described Roman his next training agenda.Roman´s new team Saxo-Tinkoff has been granted the World Tour license that will ensure them to participate in all monument races. The news came as no surprise to Roman. “When you think about it and look at the riders we have, the team history and its organization it would have been unreasonable if we hadn’t gotten the license. Even if we didn’t get it I think we would surely get invited to all big races; but it is definitely much more pleasant to have the license.” As far as his race schedule is concerned, Roman has kept everyone in suspense until now. “The only thing I can say is that I am going to kick off the season in early February. We have set up the race program but none of the team has made it public yet and for that reason, I am going to wait a while. I assure you that it will be announced at the right time,” Roman said.
