Tough start

“..but the start was really tough. It took some time before the breakaway group formed, the pace was really high. We covered 93km in the first two hours,” Roman revealed. Then the pace knocked off and even though the terrain was quite hilly we were riding in a relaxed tempo. We let the team Sky take control of the stage and tried to save as much strength as possible. Yesterday´s stage was difficult and we have an extremely long and tough stage with the finish atop Mont Ventoux coming up. I dare not say how it will unfold tomorrow but we have to recover properly in any case,” Roman added.
