A motorbike slowed me down

“When I was entering the last turn the motorbike riding in front of me slowed down and I had nowhere to go. I had to hit the brakes and slow my speed from 40km/h to 15km/h. Plus, the last 800m were uphill so it was difficult for me to get back into the rhythm. I could have lost 15 seconds or so. Had I not lost them I may have made it to the top ten but I don’t want to make any excuses because that is the way the cookie crumbles. Even so, I´m quite happy with my performance. Vino pulled off a great time trial compared to those riders in the front positions in the GC. The only thing I don’t understand is how Evans made up 30 seconds during the last ten kilometers when they were equal on time at the last intermediate check,” Roman said.

4th stage (time trial – 20.1 km): 1st David Zabriskie (USA/Garmin) 27:58, 2nd Richie Port (Aus/Saxo Bank) +2, 3rd Lieuwe Westra (Ned/Vacansoleil) +14, 4th Bradley Wiggins (GBr/Sky) +18, 5th Tony Martin (Ger/HTC-Columbia) +27, … 16th Roman Kreuziger (Cze/Astana) +1:03, 22nd Alexandr Vinokurov (Kaz/Astana) +1:14
