Better legs but I didn’t go full gas

“The rest day and today´s stage without traveling did me really good. I was well rested and I could feel it on the bike. I had much better legs than before,” said Roman. “I just took it easy and I didn’t go full gas today. What is important for me is to be as fresh as possible for the weekend and be able to support my teammates in the mountains. I´m happy that Nico Roche and Rafa Majka pulled off a really good time trial,” Roman added. He was quite taken aback by the stunning ride by Pozzovivo who took third. Nibali re-established his lead in the overall classification. “This [Nibali´s lead] is not a big surpise. Horner seemed to be struggeling today but it happens sometimes after a rest day,” admitted Roman. He wasn’t surprised by the Cancellara´s victory either. “He is in really good shape. He is building up to the World Championship but in my opinion, he won´t compete the Worlds time trial and he will focus on the road race instead. That´s why, he wanted to win today.”
