I have to accept the sixth place

“I´m really happy for Tanel´s triumph in today´s stage. In fact, he didn’t feel like going into a breakaway but we sent him there, anyway. He deserves it after the hard work he put in at the Giro,” Roman said. “I didn’t feel good today. Last night I had stomach problems and I suffered through today´s stage. When I was dropped on the penultimate climb I felt sick. But I rode up at a reasonable pace with Kiserlovski and then we bridged the gap on the downhill. The last climb wasn’t that hard so I was able to cling on the chasing group,” Roman described.“Unfortunately, I couldn’t have done better today so I have to accept the sixth place. Of course, I would have preferred to have won the Tour de Suisse but I seem to have paid the price for the effort at the Giro. I need to rest for some time. I will have two easy days on Monday and Tuesday and then I will start gearing up for the national championship,” Roman added. The national championship race takes place on Sunday in Slovakia. “I will go check out the course on Saturday and I hope that I will stay in fine shape. After that, I will definitely take a few days off to recharge batteries for the Tour of Poland.9th stage (Näfels-Lintharena, 215.8 km): 1. Kangert (Est/Astana) 5:54:22, 2. Roy (Fra/FDJ) +2, 3.
