Narrowly second in Prague. Too bad…

A motorbike crossed his way at the very end of the race, forcing him to pull up. It happened at the most inconvenient moment, after he had attacked his breakaway companion Kovac. “I went full gas and gained some ground on him. A motorbike was going in front of me on the left and its driver made a sudden swing to the right, which made me steer into a small corridor for the team cars. As a result, I had to pull up and turn around. I was very angry but there is nothing I can do now. After the incident we approached the finish line together and he was a better sprinter. I would have preferred if the final run-in had been a bit longer,” said Roman who rode for the national colors. As for the race itself, he enjoyed the parcours that perfectly fitted into his preparations for the World Championship. “I felt really great, the recent long training rides that I had undergone helped me a lot,” he admitted. “In order to gather more kilometers I rode 30km as a transfer to the start. After the race, I went home by car from Prague but then I rode 50km to cool down,” he revealed.Presently, Roman is making the final preparations for the World Championship. “Tomorrow I´m going to take an easy ride, the next day I´m going to do high intensities and on Wednesday I want to do a long ride with some pacing behind a car. I will be riding with Raboň and Kozubek, and we might take part in a local crit race on Wednesday. Then I´m going to ride for three hours on Thursday and we´re off to the World Championship on Friday.”
