No time to slack off at Romandy

“I don’t want to make any predictions. I am going to take the race day by day and we will see how I will feel. I caught a slight cold during the last stage at the Trentino but I rested as much as I could over the weekend, so hopefully, everything will be fine,” said Roman while traveling to Lausanne for the start of the race.“I hope that it will be an ideal preparation for the Giro. I could also gain some points in the UCI rankings so it would be a pity not to fight for them. I´m not saying that I will win the race overall but I´m not going there to slack off. We will see how I will feel after the first three stages. I hope the weather will be nicer than it was at the Trentino. If everything goes well I believe I can make the top 5,” spoke Roman of his ambitions.Roman is not concerned about the tough competition. “There are always excellent riders at this race but we have a strong team as well and even Tiralongo or Brajkovic can think about getting a good result. We have recently shone in the classics: Gasparotto won the Amstel, Kiserlovski took fifth at the Fleche Wallone and Iglinskij now took the victory in Liege. Besides that Gaspa rounded off the podium, which is really great for the team morale,” he said.
