Roman has moved to fourth!

“I had much better legs than on Saturday and once again I have only words of praise for my team. Gasparotto did a hell of job at the beginning of the last climb. When he got dropped, the  Liquigas team took over the lead but none of the favorites dared to attack. I think we are all on the same level, more or less, and it was clear that everyone was on his limit on the final ascent. The leader Hesjedal was probably the one who suffered most and if the climb had been a bit longer he might have lost the ground completely,” he said.Pozzovivo soloed to a victory after a breakaway on the last ascent. “He was the best rider  today. He gained some time on us but I don’t think that it was because of the fact that everyone else let him go. He was the strongest so he made a move and it worked out for him.”Roman isn’t getting particularly excited about the fourth place overall. “It doesn’t mean anything, the race is far from being over. We have the first week of racing behind us and we can be more than happy so far. We´ve pulled off a great third place in the TTT, Tiralongo took a victory in Saturday´s stage and we are showing our best qualities here,” said delighted Roman.  8th stage Sulmona-Lago Laceno (229 km): 1.
