Roman third in the GC!!!

“I´m happy with third place and it would be nice if I could hold on to it until Paris. But our primary mission is to make an attempt to secure Alberto’s overall victory,” Roman said. Now the key stages of the Tour are coming up and we will have to try to put Froome under pressure. We will see how it goes.” Roman rode today´s time trial on his standard bike, having dismissed the idea of changing bikes after the final ascent. “My time trial bike was on the roof rack but I noticed that the roads were wet so with regard to the tough stages that are to come I didn’t want to run the risk of falls on the time trial bike. I felt more secure riding on my standard bike. I lost a couple of seconds so, at the end of the day, it might have been better to swap the bikes but even so, I´m quite satisfied.”
