Tirreno-Adriatico replacing Paris-Nice

“Because of my health problems I missed out on a week of training and it can also have an impact on my shape since many riders are fine-tuned at this point of the season. Even though I have done some good rides recently I don’t think I can put myself into a position of a leader at the Paris-Nice. I simply don’t want to struggle around the 15th place overall and I think it could do me more harm than good. I have agreed with the team management that I will help Alberto at the Tirreno,” Roman revealed from Corsica. “Alberto´s goal is to win this race overall and I am more than happy to ride in his support. I believe that I will be as useful as possible.”Roman is going to stop by in the Czech Republic after his return from Corsica. “I need to take a short break but I´m planning to ride hard over the weekend. The stomach ailment deprived me of more strength than I expected and I have to get back into shape as soon as possible,” he said.Apart from injured Duggan and Kron, all the Saxo-Tinkoff  riders gathered at the training camp on Corsica. “Zaugg, who crashed at the Tour Méditerranéen, only did some sessions on the trainer. The weather wasn’t as good as we thought it would be. It was chilly, sometimes it rained but we put in the volume that was needed,” he added.
