Tough luck at this Tour

How do you assess your performance at this year´s Tour?It wasn’t a lucky Tour for me because I fell off my bike three times during the first week. After that, our leader was forced to withdraw from the race due to a crash and we had to change our plans. We did our best in the last week to take a stage victory but it didn’t pan out even though we had a rider in almost every breakaway. What was the worst moment for you?It was definitely the day after the crash and the Friday´s stage.Do you take it as your worst Tour?I´d rather say most complicated. Had it not been for the crash it might have been completely different but it is not worth speculating. That is the way it goes in sport. How is your injured wrist? On Tuesday morning I´m traveling to the Czech Republic for a magnetic resonance examination. We will see what the outcome will be.What is your next racing schedule?Everything depends on my health condition. If my hand is not broken I would like to ride the Classic San Sebastian. I really like this race, once I came in second there. Then I´m going to take a few days off, for sure. Two races in Canada are scheduled for September and then the season will be practically over for me.What do you think of Evans´s victory?Since I didn’t have a chance to fight for the front positions I find it hard to comment on it. Cadel showed a well- balanced performance, he can do well in the mountains and he is very strong in time trials. He deserves the overall victory and I am also happy for my buddies from BMC, Quinziato and Santaromita.Stage 21 (Créteil-Paris, 95 km): 1st Cavendish (GBr) 2:27:02, 2nd Boasson Hagen (Nor), 3rd Greipel (Ger), 4th Farrar (USA), 5th Cancellara (Swi), 6th Oss (Ita), … 141st Roman Kreuziger (Cze/Astana).  Final general classification: 1st Evans 86:12:22, 2nd A.
