Going to the Alps to recon Tour stages

“My preparation has been going as planned. I took the first three days after the rest quite easy, now I am doing some high intensity training  and I have gotten back to the training swing. Next week we are planning to recon some Tour mountain stages and then I will come back home to Italy,” he said.Every day after his training ride he makes sure not to miss the ongoing battle at the Giro d´Italia. “This year it is really interesting. I was surprised to see that Hesjedal and Wiggins dropped out of the front positions. On the other hand, things are looking really good for Nibali and it will be difficult for the other riders to beat him, but Evans seems to be in shape,” he said. There is no doubt that he keeps his fingers crossed for his Saxo-Tinkoff teammates. “Rafal Majka has performed really well. He is the leader of the best young rider classification. He is young but very talented. We knew that he has what it takes to ride with the best ones and he has lived up to our expectations so far. Betancurt is very close in the GC and it won´t be easy for him but I believe that he (Rafal) will keep the jersey,” he added.
