No attack on my part

“I was just closing a gap and suddenly, we had a slight advantage. I had no intentions of riding away. That´s why, I immediately looked behind to see where my teammates were,” Roman revealed. The goal of  the Saxo-Tinkoff boys was to keep Alberto Contador in a safe position at the front. “It was necessary to hold on to that position because the pace was kept high on those narrow roads. The bottom-line is that Alberto feels quite good after the crash, his back is just hurting a bit. I´m feeling also all right and slowly getting into the rhythm.” After a solo ride, the Belgian rider Bakelants dominated in today´s stage, keeping the slimmest advantage possible. “We struggled with the headwinds and were hoping to bring the escapees back. Only one was able to stay ahead, towards the end many riders seemed tired,” added Roman who crossed the finish line in 51st position.
