Roman keeps fighting, eyeing a stage victory

How are you feeling? It is much better. My wrist is bumped, the tendons are pulled but my hand is not hurting as much as it did during the weekend. I should get better with the special cast I´m using. Are you going to try to take a stage victory?I hope so. I´m not saying that I will be in the action tomorrow.  I just need a couple of days to bounce back. I will get into a breakaway only when I feel absolutely strong. I would like to try to figure something out when we get to the Pyrenees.Your ambitions for the GC are burnt after the series of crashes. Do you feel sorry? There is nothing I can do about it. I hope that the dark side of the Tour is behind us and from now on, everything will turn out all right. I want to win a stage and if I get a chance, I would like to fight for the polka dot jersey. Only this jersey seems to be a bit realistic for me. There are still many mountain stages to come and I would like to give it a shot.Have you had a chance to talk to Vinokurov? We text messaged and today he was communicating without any difficulty. He´d be delighted if we took a stage victory so we will do our best. How do you explain so many crashes?I see no explanation for that. Truth to be told, there  have always been crashes but not so many during the last few years. Everybody is told to ride at the front to avoid crashes but yesterday even the riders in the front positions went down and when I crashed I was riding at the front, too. There is not much that you can do, sometimes it is just about pure luck. How are you teammates doing?Almost everyone is battered. I underwent X-rays with Fofonov who had a microfracture on his wrist but he will continue in the race with a cast. He was in the same crash as Vino but he came out of it quite well. Everybody was feeling kind of down after what had happened to Vino but then we got some sleep and now everyone is in a fighting mood.
